Now the object of the GAME is to get your Fresnel ( with the Front glass open ... Open Eyed ) as far back as possible ,,, When they are open eyed and blue gelled they loose a lot of their power ,,,,,, ( no one likes to open eye HMI lamps )
You then try to get the glass sheet with the water running down it as close to the subject matter as possible so the distance between it is small compared to the distance between the lamp and the subject ,,,,,,, This way the Shadow will be sharper .
As you would imagine this makes for a very restricted camera coverage ,,,,,, They didnt mind in those OLD movies of the 1940 because they didnt move the camera much .
