I awake to this view ,,,,,, very very wet ,,,,, got a big exterior day to do today ,,,,

We get to the location a hour or so drive ,,,,,, While they are rigging the car tow rig for interiors we set up the wide shot with B camera ,,, It actually looks interesting in the wet ,,, If only it stays wet .

For what ever reasons we are still waiting for the actor to get out of make up , some hours after start time ,, very frustrating ,,, as the weather could turn sunny on us in minutes ...

We shoot the exteriors and some of the driving interiors ,,,,,

Good old Paradise Police

Ella stands in for a dead woman in the Static car ,,, This is a hard thing for Ella to do ,,,, She doesnt play dead very well ,,,,

The dead girl plays dead ,,,,,, What a great part for an up and coming actress to get ,,,, I can see it now on her CV ,,,, dead Girl ,,, Jesse Stone ,,,

We used a towing rig that works quite well for us in the past ,,,,, With a swing of the arm we can relight from the driver to the passenger position well before the cameras have even been reset ,,,

Earlier we had shot a hand held POV from the police car ,,,,But now it started to clear up ,,,

Getting brighter and less rain ...

Then just as we had completed all the close shooting it cleared up ,,,,, just in time for some wide shots ...... nasty business the SUN ,,,,

The road started drying and the sky got bluer ,,,,,,, AAAHHHHH

And Bluer ,,,,,,,

TIME TO MOVE DOWN THE ROAD AND DO ANOTHER SCENE ,,

In the Time that I have been shooting these Jesse Stone TV movies I had never been in a situation that I have had to shoot a chocolate box shot with the Sun over my right shoulder ,,,,,, AAAHHHH ,,,, So I embraced the look and pulled out the Polariser to go with the Flow ,,,,, To be used as is or used as a blue screen to mat in a different sky ,,,,,,, And Mat in a stormy sky is what was done in Post Production ,,,,, It looked cool .

The Ultra bounce works as a bit of Full sun fill

Where are Andy and Gareth pointing A camera Now ,,,,,,???????

A Quick Dog shot before getting ready for a magic hour ( minute ) scene ,,,,,,,
I was setting up to do a C/U profile track in of a face lighting a cig and at the same time a wider interior over the bad guy towards the house . He was observing that the house lights go out ,,,,,,, Just Prior to this Dick left with B camera to shoot some of the wet wide shots we missed back at the First location ,,,,,,

,So I have a plan to get the two car shots and maybe an evening Dog shot on the bridge to back up a Green Night Shot simulated Night vision we had to do last ,,,,,,,,,,
My plans we thrown out a bit ... when within about 5 minutes of shooting time ,,, I am told ,, Where are you doing the wide shot from ???? ..
. No one had ever discussed a Wide Shot before ,,,,, No time to Talk ,,, only time to Do ,,,
So with a bit of hurry up yelling ,,,,, we shot just a few minutes earlier than I had planed,,,, dragged dolly and C camera ( or was it B camera ) out ,,,
Put the rear window in and shot a wide as the the day became night ,,,,,
Then a Nice little play with a home video POV on night shoot around the house ,,,,, we were having tooo much fun ,,, so they had to tell us to stop and Drive home ,, So we Did ,,,
A LONG DAY DONE ,,,,,,
